The hottest gossip about pandas

(Full disclosure, there will probably not be a lot of panda gossip discussed on this newsletter until I find some to hang out with.)

Hi.

My name is Andy Yen. I’ve worked in games and music (and a little movies & TV too), essentially curating the good stuff for easier public consumption. I’m the dude my friends ask for recommendations on stuff because I like to be dialed into pop culture. I love new things, so I’m always on the search for hidden gems or up and coming superstars in whatever field.

Here’s a little FAQ that I imagine may shed some more light on this project.

What am I getting myself into?

What is it going to be about?

I love pop culture so I spend a lot of time finding and experiencing the best new films, games, music, theater, tech, sports, fashion shows, etc. I’m going to share some of those experiences and thoughts here and hopefully shine a light on something that might bring you joy too.

That sounds pretty ambitious, is it going to work?

We’ll see. It’ll definitely be a work in progress, but you can probably expect a heavier emphasis on film, music, and games for the mix as I’m more plugged in those areas. I’ll also share the occasional link with commentary too in case I don’t feel particularly moved by stuff I’ve come across.

Do I have to block off huge amounts of time to read?

My goal isn’t to overload you with a wall of text with each edition, so expect something relatively succinct on a couple of topics. If it’s not something you vibe with, hang in there, hopefully the next thing will.
